Belz Purchases Massive Property On James Street For Its Mosdos

Lakewood’s Belz kehilla has received extraordinary news: askanim have signed a contract to acquire the Rachmastrivka property on James Street, a historic step forward that will transform its capacity to be mechanech talmidim and talmidos in a proper setting.

The project, valued at over $20 million, will involve a comprehensive overhaul and expansion of the existing buildings to create a significantly expanded Talmud Torah and Bais Malka complex. The scope is enormous: new classrooms, expanded dormitory and batei medrashim.

The expansion reflects the realities on the ground: enrollment continues climbing as Lakewood’s Belz kehilla grows. Askanim hope that the new facility will allow the kehilla’s chinuch to flourish.

  1. Who’s approving this project ??? This is going to cause an insane amount of traffic. The belz kehilla doesn’t live in the area that will mean bussing them across town. How crazy

  2. how dare they!!!!!!!!!! were are OUR OWN suposed to live? why are we importing foreigners? its enough they took so much space in the south as it is!!!!!!!

  3. Where do the chassidim come up with these hundreds of millions of dollars, whether it be visznitz, belz, satmar, skver etc. Are there money producing trees out there?

    • Its called community & sticking together supporting each other, unfortunately us Litvaks don’t have that so we all on our own, if we would all come together & listen to a Gadul Batorah then maybe something can change in this town

  4. The traffic on James, Sunset, and Cross is bad enough. The roads simply can not handle the extra load. The goal was to open schools away from the middle of town. The school should be in the Route 70 area. I’m definitely going to all the zoning and planning meetings and opposing this. And so should any local resident who cares for the safety and quality of life of the people.

  5. These comments would be appropriate coming from a real sonei yisroel. Who are these Yidden if not OUR OWN? Why do you begrudge other Yidden success, economic or otherwise? Is it only when Yidden are exactly kamocha that you can even tolerate them? Hashem yerachem!

  6. Guys Chill!
The site currently has 2 schools with a combined over 1200 kids, they are not adding anything crazy.
Not sure what everyone is losing their minds over….

  7. Is everyone just jealous of the chassidim??? Seems like somehow they are growing faster then anyone could imagine and they keep on purchasing more and more property.
