One of Lakewood’s oldest, most beloved – and certainly most colorful – toy stores is shutting down for good next Sunday, June 9. Toys 4 Thought, located at 310 3rd Street in downtown Lakewood, is moving on to greener pastures after years at the three-story location.
Toys 4 Thought’s owner, R’ Hershel Hershkowitz, said in a video announcing the store’s closure that while the store could potentially reopen at another location, it would not be in Lakewood’s downtown area. He noted that part of the reason he opened the store in that particular location was to help the township get it to become a thriving area once again. However, he said, that has not happened, and he is therefore shutting down its operations.
Toys 4 Thought is having a major closing sale this week ahead of its shutdown.
