With deep sorrow and pain, we regret to inform the tzibbur of the petirah of Rebbetzin Leah Altusky a”h (nee Kagon), who stood unwaveringly at the side of her illustrious husband, Harav Zev Altusky zt”l, for decades.
A longtime resident of the Lower East Side, Rebbetzin Altusky a”h moved to Lakewood two years ago.
Rebbetzin Altusky exemplified the true essence of a eishes chaver kechaver — a woman whose home was built on Torah, avodah, and chessed. Throughout her life, she provided the support that enabled her husband, Rav Zev zt”l, to dedicate himself fully to harbotzas haTorah as Menahel of Yeshiva Chasam Sofer and Magid Shiur in HILI /HAFTR, where he inspired generations of talmidim for over 40 years.
She was the akeres habayis of a home that produced a distinguished family of bnei Torah and marbitzei Torah.
The levaya will take place at 10 AM Friday morning at the Lakewood Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue. Kevurah will take place at the Wellwood Cemetery in Long Island.
Yehi Zichrah Baruch.
