Lakewood Alerts regrets to inform you of the petirah of Rav Eliyahu (ben R’ Shimon) Shain Z”L, who was Niftar over Shabbos at the age of 99.
Rav Eliyahu Z”L was a Yerei Shamayim and a true Baal Mussar, known for his Ahavas HaTorah and Mesikus HaLimud.
He was the father of Mrs. Chaya Rivka Rabinowitz (wife of Reb Mendel Z”L), Mrs. Gnesha Tauber, R’ Shimon Shain, Mrs. Miriam Bender (wife of R’ Paltiel), Mrs. Penina Lewanoni (wife of R’ Avrhom Moshe), Rebbetzin Chana Rochel Platnick (wife of R’ Meir), R’ Yisroel Meir Shain (Monsey), and Mrs. Shulamis Klang (Kiryat Sefer).
For many years, Rav Eliyahu Z”L resided in Kiryat Sefer, where he was a known presence in the Beis Medrash, always holding a Sefer and immersed in Avodas Hashem. Following the Petirah of his wife, he relocated to Lakewood, where he spent his final years surrounded by family and Torah.
The Levaya is set to take place at 10:00 AM on Sunday at the Lakewood Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue. Kevurah will be in Eretz Yisroel.
