Lakewood Alerts regrets to inform you the petirah of Rabbi Yosef Shalom Widroff z”l, who was niftar in Lakewood at the age of 84, following a sudden heart attack.
Rabbi Widroff had been a resident of A Country Place for the past decade, where he was highly regarded as a talmid chacham, marbitz Torah, and a beloved figure within the kehilla. Prior to moving to Lakewood, he lived for many years in Flatbush and was among the earliest members of Kollel Torah Vodaas.
Rabbi Widroff earned a reputation as a renowned Daf Yomi maggid shiur, delivering clear and engaging shiurim that drew in listeners and inspired many to commit to limud haTorah on a steady basis.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Molly Widroff yb”l, and their children: R’ Yanky Widroff of Cherry Hill, R’ Yitzchok Widroff of Cedarhurst, and Mrs. Rochel Smith of Lakewood, along with grandchildren and great-grandchildren who continue in his path.
The levaya is scheduled to take place at 11 AM on Thursday at the Sons of Israel Holocaust Memorial Chapel, 613 Ramsey Avenue in Lakewood.
