BMG announced today the petirah of R’ Eliezer Kuperman z”l, a cherished member of its staff and student body for more than 50 years. He was 90.
Reb Eliezer served continuously in the yeshiva’s financial office and was known for balancing his administrative duties with tireless limud torah. A talmid of Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l, he later became a trusted aide to Rav Shneur Kotler zt”l and to the current Roshei HaYeshiva. Until just months ago, he could still be found poring over Gemara in the Beis Medrash even as he managed budgets and donations.
“He was a humble, sweet GIANT—ohev labriyos and nechmad l’makom,” said BMG CEO Rabbi Yosef Heinemann. “A tremendous loss for Klal Yisrael. The yeshiva pulsated through his blood for over 50 years.”
Reb Eliezer resided in the yeshiva apartments on 9th Street and Forest Avenue. His entire life was devoted to Avodas HaKodesh.
The levaya will take place Sunday at 3:00 pm, in BMG’s Yoshon Beis Medrash.
