Lakewood Alerts regrets to inform you of the petirah of Rav Yitzchok Finkelstein zt”l, the rosh yeshiva of Yeshiva Gedolah of Bayonne, following a lengthy illness.
The levaya is scheduled to take place at the yeshiva (735 Avenue C, Bayonne, NJ) at 11:30 am. The aron will then be brought to JFK Airport for a 5:30 pm flight to Eretz Yisroel, with kevurah in Beit Shemesh.

As a former talmidei of Bayonne who BH has been able to help the Yeshiva out financially once I went to work I had a very close relationship to Reb Velvy. He was an amazing person who ran the Yeshiva with much mesiras nefesh. However he was not the Rosh Yeshiva. He ran the finances and the day to day operations of the Yeshiva.
