Lakewood Alerts regret to inform you of the petirah of Rebbetzin Reva Wasserman A”H (Rivka Leah bas Moshe Shimon), who was niftar at the age of 87.
Rebbetzin Wasserman A”H was the eishes chaver of Harav Yitzchak Wasserman shlit”a (a talmid of Rav Aharon Kotler zt”l), and the daughter of the late R’ Moshe Shimon Bayarsky z”l of Baltimore.
Together with her husband, Harav Yitzchak shlit”a, Rebbetzin Wasserman played a central role in founding and building Yeshiva Toras Chaim of Denver, a flourishing makom Torah that continues to shape generations of talmidim.
In 1967, following the directive of Rav Shneur Kotler zt”l, Rav Yitzchak was sent to Denver to establish a yeshiva in an area where Torah life was still taking root. From the very beginning, Rebbetzin Wasserman stood at his side with extraordinary mesirus nefesh, emunah, and devotion. Through years of dedication and quiet perseverance, she helped transform Denver into a true makom Torah and a vibrant Torah community.
Rebbetzin Wasserman was known for her refined midos, her boundless chesed, and her deep ahavas Yisroel. Her life was one of service — to her husband, to the yeshiva, and to every individual who came her way. She treated the talmidim as her own children, providing warmth, care, and encouragement that left a lasting impact on their lives. Her home radiated sincerity and kindness, a reflection of her deep yiras Shamayim and genuine love for Torah.
Her legacy, together with that of her husband shlita, lives on in the countless talmidim of Yeshiva Toras Chaim and in the thriving Torah community they helped build from the ground up.
The levaya in Denver will take place today (Sunday) at 11:00 AM local time at Yeshiva Toras Chaim. Kevurah will take place in Lakewood.
Rebbetzin Wasserman A”H is survived by her husband, and their children: R’ Yosef Shmuel Wasserman of Lakewood, Rebbetzin Sara Gittie Nussbaum of Denver, R’ Baruch Tzvi Wasserman of Baltimore, and R’ Ahron Yisroel Wasserman of Denver.
Baruch Dayan Ha’emes.
