Lakewood Alerts regrets to inform you of the petirah of world-renowned askan R’ Yanky (Jack) Meyer. He was just 58.
R’ Yanky leaves behind a legacy of chesed, askanus, and care for others whose enormity is difficult to convey to anyone who didn’t know – and perhaps even those who did.
Yanky was the founder of Misaskim and Project Yedid, was a member of Boro Park Hatzolah, a volunteer for Tomchei Shabbos, a chaplain in numerous agencies, an advocate for halachic burials, a confidant of mayors, police commissioners, and fire officials, and perhaps above all, the first person to call in times of tragedy.
His presence will be sorely missed by all of klal Yisroel.

The levaya will take place at 10:30 AM Friday morning at 1123 57th Street between 11th and 12th Avenues. Kevura will be on Woodbridge, New Jersey.
