The Olam HaTorah is mourning the untimely petirah of Harav Chizkiyahu Moshe Salomon zt”l, beloved mashgiach ruchani of the Sunderland Yeshiva in Gateshead, England, and son of BMG mashgiach Hatav Mattisyahu Salomon zt”l. Rav Chizkiyahu Moshe was only 59 years old.
The levayah took place Motzoei Shabbos Parshas Balak, at 11:00 PM, at the Bendheim (Yoshon) Bais Medrash of Beth Medrash Govoha in Lakewood, NJ. The aron was then flown to Gateshead for kevurah.
A towering mechanech and deeply devoted mashpiah, Rav Chizkiyahu Moshe was known for his pashtus, emes, and the boundless warmth he extended to every bochur and yungerman who came under his influence. With a heart full of rachmanus and eyes that saw the nekudah tova in every talmid, the Mashgiach led with love, guided with daas, and uplifted with unshakable emunah.
Rav Salomon assumed the mantle of mashgiach following Rav Yaakov Abenson, and from the moment he stepped into that role, he threw himself into the tzorech harabbim with selfless mesirus nefesh. For years, he guided the talmidim of Sunderland Yeshiva with sensitivity and chochmah, always with a listening ear and a heart open to every neshama.
In 2023, Rav Salomon was diagnosed with a serious illness, which he accepted with his trademark emunah peshutah. Despite intense yissurim, he remained focused on his talmidim, continuing to serve as a beacon of strength and serenity. Those close to him describe how his bitachon in Hakadosh Baruch Hu only deepened throughout his machalah, and how he inspired all those around him—baalei battim, bochurim, rabbanim, and laymen alike—with his quiet gevurah and kabollas yissurim b’ahava.
Yehi Zichro Baruch.

Will there be a live for the levaya?
