Bais Yaakov of Jackson Purchases Rosenauer Elementary School for $13.1 Million

The Jackson Board of Education has accepted a $13.1 million bid from Bais Yaakov of Jackson (Bais Faiga), for the purchase of the Rosenauer Elementary School in the Brookwood neighborhood. The property is expected to undergo renovations and become the new high school campus for Bais Yaakov of Jackson students.

The Rosenauer Elementary School was closed at the end of the previous school year due to declining student enrollment and severe financial strain within the Jackson school district. The decision to sell the property follows months of deliberations, including a previous attempt to auction the building.

Last month, the Board of Education rejected a $9.1 million bid for the property, citing its minimum bid requirement of $18.5 million. After the unsuccessful auction, the Board lowered the threshold and resumed negotiations, ultimately agreeing to the $13.1 million offer from Bais Yaakov.

Bais Yaakov has not publicly announced specific details regarding the timeline or scope of renovations.
