Average Gas Prices Fall Below $4 a Gallon in New Jersey

The average price for a gallon of gasoline is now below $4, according to AAA. The average price for gas in the Garden State on Friday stood at $3.99 – down from a record high of $5.05 a gallon set on June 13th, but still significantly higher than a year ago today, when prices averaged $3.18 a gallon.

Diesel prices are down to $5.00 a gallon on average, down from a high of $6.33 set on May 18.

Unfortunately, not all areas of New Jersey are seeing average prices dipping below $4. Ocean County is still waiting to drop under that benchmark – as of Friday, average prices in the county stood at $4.05 a gallon, though a number of gas stations have been selling fuel for just below $4.
