More than 8,300 customers were left in the dark this morning as yet another JCP&L outage rippled through the region, disrupting homes, schools, and businesses. The utility company restored power at around 10:30 a.m.
The latest disruption adds fuel to years of mounting frustration over what many describe as JCP&L’s chronic inability to keep up with the explosive growth of communities like Lakewood.
Officials have repeatedly criticized the utility for failing to expand and modernize its infrastructure, warning that the company’s outdated grid has already delayed new developments and prevented some businesses from opening. In Lakewood, where population and commercial activity have surged, JCP&L’s shortcomings have become a frequent flashpoint.
As thousands once again waited for power to return, residents were left wondering how many more times they’ll have to endure the same story before meaningful improvements are made.

** Please correct me if I am wrong for this is Only MY Understanding**
I do not follow any specific religion nor do I know much about local TAX Law.
QUESTION:
Could this “outdated and underpowered” grid be a result from the severely reduced amount of residential property taxes that LAKEWOOD RESIDENTS pay? My understanding is:
LAKEWOOD residents take advantage of (rules or laws?) by which if your family’s household is of a certain size, that homeowner pays a seriously reduced amount of taxes under the guise of being REGISTERED as”a house of worship”. A “house of worship” is exempt from most of the property taxes which all others pay? For example SCHOOL TAX FEE FOR MY HOME IS ABOUT $4,700.00 PER YEAR. I have no children, yet 60%-70% of my property tax bill is for SCHOOL TAX.
I don’t know where you get your information from, but you need new sources. Firstly, it is not even remotely true that most houses – or even a significant number of houses – in Lakewood are tax-free. This is public record; you can easily look it up. Secondly, even if they were tax-free, JCP&L is not funded through property taxes, so I don’t know what you’re talking about.
I LEFT OUT MY FINAL QUESTION. What effect does 100’s of “houses of worship” with large families or “congregations” who pay little or no local/property taxes What effect does that impose upon the rest of the township and their services and public utilities?
