Agudath Israel of America’s New Jersey office congratulated Governor-elect Mikie Sherrill on her victory in this year’s gubernatorial election and extended its best wishes to her as she prepares to take on the monumental responsibilities of leading the state.
“We have had the opportunity to work with Governor-elect Sherrill in the past during her tenure in Congress, and we greatly appreciated her accessibility and willingness to listen to the concerns of our community,” Shlomo Schorr, director of Agudath Israel’s New Jersey office, said.
“We look forward to building on that positive relationship with Governor-elect Sherrill and working together on matters affecting New Jersey’s Orthodox Jewish community. as she assumes her new role,” Schorr added.
Agudah said it was particularly heartened by the exceptionally high voter turnout within the Orthodox Jewish communities across the state. While statewide turnout rose significantly compared with previous governor’s races, the Orthodox Jewish community saw turnout levels that surpassed expectations, reflecting a strong commitment to civic participation and to shaping the future of New Jersey.
