When reaching retirement age, one is often faced with many important decisions and choices, requiring decisions about Social Security, Medicare, Home Care, and many other questions. Their family members are also in a quandary, often never having dealt with these issues before. To help seniors and their families navigate the road ahead of them, Agudas Yisroel’s New Jersey office is launching a new division: Zahav, a resource and referral center for Lakewood seniors and their families.
Questions that the Zahav team are expecting will include ones about finding local help for seniors, finding guidance for legal and medical planning, and information about government resources to pay towards healthcare costs. Others will want to know about financial planning questions, such as trusts and wills, or Medicaid. Zahav aims to help seniors and their families, answer their questions, and guide them to ensure they are equipped with all the necessary information they need to access life-enhancing services and programs.
Zahav is headed by Mrs. Hadassah Waldman, MS, SBL, SDL, who most recently was the director of senior services for the Boro Park Jewish Community Council. She brings to the position a wealth of experience, which she is applying to the senior community’s needs in Lakewood.
“We are very excited to launch Zahav for the benefit of Lakewood’s growing senior community,” said Rabbi Avi Schnall, director of Agudah’s New Jersey office. “Mrs. Waldman’s experience in this field will be a tremendous asset in helping Lakewood’s seniors.”
Zahav can be reached by calling 732-540-1898, or emailing zahav@agudah.org. All inquiries will be held in strictest confidentiality.
