Affected By AT&T’s Cell Outage? Here’s $5

AT&T has announced plans to provide a $5 credit to customers affected by last week’s cellphone network outage. The outage, which occurred this past Thursday, left many users without service for hours.

Eligible customers can expect to receive the credit within two billing cycles, but it will not apply to AT&T Business, prepaid service, or Cricket. Prepaid customers will have alternative options available, although details were not provided.

The outage was attributed to an error in coding – not a cyberattack, as was initially feared.

Some customers have expressed outrage over the compensation amount, feeling that it is insufficient considering the inconvenience caused by the outage.
