Antisemitism is skyrocketing in the U.S.!
And perhaps the most vile manifestation of this hate is what we are seeing on our college and university campuses!
Over the past two years, Agudath Israel has been actively involved in high level discussions at the White House and federal agencies, and on Capitol Hill, to support measures that will help address this scourge. We have reached out to you, and you have responded to help make these initiatives a reality.
And now we come to you once more.
Vital legislation — the bipartisan Countering Antisemitism Act (S. 4091/H.R. 7921) — has been introduced in the Senate by Senators Jacky Rosen (D-NV) and James Lankford (R-OK), and in the House by Representatives Kathy Manning (D-NC-6), Chris Smith (R-NJ-4), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA-1), and Randy Weber (R-TX-14).
- The Countering Antisemitism Act expands upon the Antisemitism Awareness Act, recently passed by the House. It introduces a comprehensive, multi-pronged approach – including appointment of a White House-based national coordinator who would oversee federal efforts, and lead a dedicated interagency task force, to fight antisemitism. Its reach will extend to Holocaust education, campus antisemitism, nonprofit security grants, and more. The result will be the creation of a permanent, unified structure to combat antisemitism by employing the resources of the entire federal government and reaching the broad landscape of society.
