A Weather System Moving Through New Jersey Could Hamper Your Purim Plans

After spring-like warmth on Shabbos, a fast-moving cold front swept through the region overnight, bringing a sharp drop in temperatures and a return to more typical winter conditions. Forecasters say the back-and-forth pattern is expected to continue in the days ahead – including on Purim.

According to the National Weather Service, periods of snow, sleet and freezing rain are expected to develop Monday night and continue into Purim morning. Current projections call for light accumulations, generally up to 1 inch, before precipitation transitions to rain and drizzle Tuesday afternoon.

Following the early-week system, a pronounced warmup is forecast to take hold beginning Wednesday and continuing through at least Shabbos.
