$400K+ Raised For Jackson Mikvah At Parlor Meeting

More than $400,000 was raised towards the cost of building the planned Jackson Mikvah at a parlor meeting on Monday night. At least 35 members of local neighborhoods donated at least $5,000 to this endeavor.

Fundraisers for the mikva had previously brought in more than $2 million, and with Monday night’s total, they are approximately halfway to raising the necessary $6 million needed.

The mikva, which will be located on New Prospect and Woodlane, in the northern section of the township, will include a 24-room women’s mikvah along with separate facilities for men and keilim.

  1. Why build one super sized mikva for $6 million? The tzibur would be much better served if they would use the money to build 4-6 smaller mikvaos (5 or six rooms) strategically placed in different areas.
