Lakewood Fire Chief Jonathan Yahr released the following statement on Wednesday morning:
It is with deep sadness that the Lakewood Fire Department announces the untimely passing of one of our own, Qua’dry Lyons on January 14, 2025.
Qua’dry Lyons joined our department as a Volunteer Firefighter in June of 2023 and was hired as a full-time career Firefighter in July of 2024 and quickly became a valued member of our team. In his time with us, he demonstrated immense dedication, courage, and a passion for serving our community. His commitment to the fire service and his willingness to go above and beyond for others will always be remembered.
Our department is heartbroken by this loss, and our thoughts are with Firefighter Lyons family, friends, and colleagues during this incredibly difficult time. We ask for privacy and understanding as we come together to support one another and honor his memory.
Details about services or memorials will be shared at a later time.
The Lakewood Fire Department remains committed to supporting our firefighters and their families during times of need and will continue to uphold the values of service and community that Firefighter Lyons exemplified.
So sad! Rest in peace!
Thank you for your service Qua’dry!
I do not live in Lakewood, but Yerushalayim. I subscribe to Lakewood Alerts to read news from the town where we have many friends. I was extremely impressed that you reported the untimely passing of Firefighter Qua’dry Lyons. It is so important that the Jewish community shows “hakoras hatov” to those in the wider community who support everyone in the jobs they do. May his family be comforted with the good memories they have of him, his great smile, h and the knowledge that he was appreciated by all
