27-Year-Old Critically Injured After Being Struck By SUV In Howell

A 27-year-old pedestrian was critically injured on Monday morning after being struck by an SUV while attempting to cross Route 9 in Howell, authorities said.

According to the Monmouth Prosecutor’s Office, the man was hit by a northbound vehicle in the right lane at around 5:20 a.m. in the area of Strickland Road. He was attempting to cross the highway from west to east when he was struck.

The pedestrian suffered multiple life-threatening injuries and was hospitalized. The 41-year-old driver of the SUV stopped at the scene and was cooperating with police.

The crash remains under investigation, and authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.
