2 Howell Police Vehicles Struck During Routine Traffic Stop

This morning just before 3 am, two Howell Police Officers were conducting a motor vehicle stop in the area of Aldrich Rd West and Aldrich Dr.

While the officers were speaking with the driver of the stopped vehicle, both of their patrol vehicles were struck by a passing motorist. Luckily, both officers avoided being struck.

The suspect vehicle fled the scene of the crash and continued west into Jackson Twp.

Both patrol vehicles were disabled at the scene and were not able to follow the vehicle that fled.

The Howell Police Department put out a request for people to be on the lookout for a Hyundai Tucson with damage to the passenger’s side, including a missing left side mirror.

Later, police said they had located the suspect vehicle. They did not provide further information about the suspect or any charges they are now facing.
