19 Injured at Six Flags in Jackson After Roller Coaster Mishap

19 people required medical attention, including 5 who required hospitalization, after the El Toro roller coaster at Six Flags Jackson suffered an accident on Thursday.

Six Flags reported to the NJ Department of Community Affairs that witnesses reported hearing a loud bang and seeing a jolting of the roller coaster while amusement park visitors were on the ride.

14 of those passengers suffered minor injuries and were treated at the site, while another 5 were taken to the hospital, including 1 with a neck injury, 2 with back injuries, and 2 with mouth and tongue injuries.

Six Flags immediately shut down the roller coaster for safety inspections, but the cause of the incident is still unclear.
