A Jackson teenager was killed on Saturday in a tragic dirt biking accident, the Jackson School District announced. The young man has been identified by social media posts as 15-year-old Jim Morell.
Police Chief Matthew Kunz says the dirt biking accident did not occur in Jackson; however, it is unclear where it happened.
Jim’s social media posts indicate a strong love for dirt biking, with various photos of him and dirt bikes adorning his page.
On Sunday night, friends, neighbors, and community members gathered for a vigil at the Morell family’s home in Jackson to honor Jim’s memory.
The Jackson school district announced that its crisis team is available to provide grief counseling for students and staff impacted by the loss.
