13,000 Lose Power In Lakewood, Jackson, Howell On Shabbos

A sudden power outage struck Lakewood, Jackson, and Howell on Shabbos, leaving approximately 13,000 homes and businesses without electricity.

According to Chris Hoenig, senior communications representative for Jersey Central Power & Light (JCP&L), the outage occurred at 12:40 p.m. due to a trip in one of the company’s substations.

JCP&L crews responded, and power was largely restored by 3 p.m.
